Cake Fairy Tales

Castle Cake

A group of home economics teachers ordered this cake for the birthday of one of their own. Slightly stressed me out there, because home econs teachers are known to be great cooks and bakers in their own right. The request was for a castle cake as there would be a giant bouncy castle at the party. Sounded like fun!

Can you see I sawed a cupcake in its liner in half and used them to make the balconies of the castle with a green grass tip and some sugarpaste roses? The mini sugar cones were hard to find but I found them in a titbit shoup in Causeway point. I brushed on a thin layer of buttercream and rolled them in green sanding sugar which is the birthday girl’s favourite color.

Months later, I received another order from the same group of teachers for the same girl, except she was getting married this time and they asked for a penis cake for hen’s night!
